Once the KCET 2017 examinations are over, the Option entry process starts on its official website Kea.kar.nic.in.

The process is usually divided into three stages, one for the first list of students admitted to colleges, second for second list and third for third list. In essence the KCET 2017 option entry process for all three lists are the same. Once the student has been through counseling, he/she would know the institutes they might get admission in.

For eg, if the student has scored average marks in KCET, it makes no sense to list top colleges of KCET in their KCET 2017 option entry form. The students list down in order of preference where they want to get admitted to, and then the admission procedure would start. The institutes would give admission to the students based on merit and the order of preference.
