The KCET 2018 seat allotment process is different for both government and private institutes. The government colleges, the KCET 2018 seat allotment process starts with giving admission to the reservation quotas, these quotas range from SC/ST, Jammu, and Kashmir, Sports, NCC, disability etc. The predetermined percentage and number of seats for these quotas are first filled up based on the applicant’s merit, the genuineness of their claim for quota and the order preference. Once the seats for the quota are filled up, the government institutes start filling up the rest of the seats with the general quota.

As for the private institutes, each institute has their own methodology for giving admission, it is usually done on the merit and the quotas if there, the percentage of such reservation vary from institute to institute.
